Plot[]

This episode opens with a clip of Haley and Brooke after the Halloween party, enjoying some drinks at Tric. It then pans to Junk, Fergie, and Mouth playing video games in their apartment. After, there is a video of Nathan pushing Clay around in his wheelchair at the hospital. All these clips are a part of Julian's documentary he is compiling together. Brooke sees the videos and states she wonders if they would be smiling if they knew he was recording them all from the bushes. Julian then states that he was thinking about the wedding and realized he doesn't have a best man. He says he hasn't gotten close with anyone in Tree Hill and Brooke asks who his best friend was growing up and Sylvia interrupts saying she was. Brooke then says it wouldn't hurt for him to make some friends and encourages him to bond with the guys while she goes with his mom to look at things for the wedding. At Tric and in Red Bedroom Records, Haley and Mia are looking at demos when Chase walks in with coffee for Mia. Mia thanks Chase and he tells her to let him know if he needs anything else. Haley states that tings seem to be going well between the two of them and Mia responds saying it's been nice being able to talk to Chase again since Alex is out of the picture. They find several bad demos and Haley claims they aren't going to find a new artist but then suggests the girl from the Halloween party for open-mic. Mia says she was really good and asks Haley if she knows her. Haley tells Mia she sort of does and Mia tells her to get her into the studio. Haley says that the only reason why she knows her is because she has been calling into the crisis intervention hotline, which is anonymous. Nathan walks in on Clay who is singing and dancing in his living room but stops when he sees Nathan, telling him Quinn is out of town so he took advantage. Clay tells him he got a phone call about Troy Jameson firing his agents and if they want to sign him they need to act right away. Nathan asks what he can do and Clay tells him he needs to fly to Atlanta and talk to the Falcons management team. Nathan tells Clay he is not ready for that and Clay tells him that he just needs to figure out what is holding up Troy's contract. Clay says he would do it himself but he is under strict orders not to fly. Nathan asks if he is feeling any better to which Clay says he has been feeling a little better but that it is still hard for him to move his arm and since Quinn has been out of town, it has been killing his sex life. Mouth wakes up and rolls over to find the mannequin version of Lucas Scott in bed with him and screams. Skills hears him and says that Lucas had a rough night. At Julian and Brooke's, Alex shows up and gives Julian a hug. He asks what she is doing there and she tells him she wanted to visit because she has a few days off. She asks what he is doing and Julian says he is going to hang out with the guys today. Alex laughs and says he is in his dreams.

At the crisis intervention, Erin Macree calls Haley again. Haley says she is glad to hear from her and asks how she has been and if she has found inspiration. Erin says that she has and talks about the open-night performance she put on at Tric. Haley then asks her if she can tell her something and says that she was there and talks about the "cheers" comment she made to Haley. Haley goes on to say that she owns Red Bedroom Records and would love to meet with Erin, with this comment, Erin immediately hangs up. Julian is interviewing Alex for his documentary and she talks about her suicide attempt in "You Know I Love You, Don't You" and Julian says that that is too serious. Alex asks what he wants from her and Julian tries to explain what his documentary is about to her. She tells him it sounds really boring but it is not why she came back. Julian asks why she did and Alex said she wants to talk to Chase. She regrets the way things ended with him and Julian pulls out his camera asking more questions about her and Chase. Alex takes the camera from him and points it at him so that he knows how everyone else feels. Alex asks what his need is for with the sudden male bonding. He tells her that he is looking for his best man. Brooke and Sylvia go to a wedding expo and Brooke says how she feels like bridezilla. Sylvia spots a photographer she really likes and tells Brooke they should be apart of the wedding. Brooke tells her she is going to ask her friend, Quinn, to take photos and Sylvia tells her she has never heard of it. The mannequin version of Lucas is sitting on their couch when Mouth asks Skills where he got it. Skills says he made it for his job and made it look just like Lucas. Mouth asks if he has one of him and then Skills asks how he has been doing along with Millie. Mouth says it ended when she went home with someone from the Halloween party at Tric. At Tric, Mia thanks Chase for the coffee and he says it was a peace offering for how he has been acting. Then Alex walks in, asking for a drink and if she can talk to him alone. Chase says no since he is in the middle of something with Mia. Alex says fine and that she will text him next time and walks away. Mia tells him that she's sorry and that she knows that was hard for Chase and offers herself up to make Alex jealous.

At the wedding expo, Sylvia talks about the components of selecting the right church for the wedding when Brooke tells her that they are having an outdoor wedding. Sylvia doesn't think that is a good idea. She tells her it could rain and goes on to say that even if it is sunny, there will be bees but suggests hanging up salami. Brooke says that would look awful to which Sylvia states that that is why the wedding should be indoor. Haley goes into her office and finds Mia on the piano. Mia tells Haley about Alex showing up at Tric wanting to talk to Chase and how Chase blew Alex off. Haley then tells Mia she should talk to Chase about giving Alex another chance. Mia tells her that's terrible advice and Haley says it is the same kind of advice Mia gave her earlier about talking to Erin through the crisis hotline. Mia then says that musicians shouldn't be helping people in a crisis since they are usually in a crisis themselves and tells Haley it is part of her problem. In the Atlanta Falcons stadium, Nathan is meeting with management to discuss Troy's future with Atlanta and asks what went wrong in the negotiation. The person representing management says they were in agreement with everything except for one timers and escalators and asks Nathan what he had in mind about them. Nathan leaves confused and takes a call with Clay telling him he didn't understand and that he is coming home. Brooke and Sylvia walk into the bridesmaid section at the expo and Brooke tells Sylvia that she is making the bridesmaid dresses herself since her friends need a "sexy Brooke Davis original". Sylvia laughs at this and says that shouldn't be the case and that her friends are supposed to look ugly while Brooke looks pretty. Brooke tells her that ugly bridesmaid dresses make her sad and Sylvia ignores this. At Tric, Haley is calling her line at the intervention to check for any messages that might have been left by Erin which there aren't. Haley is worried that she messed things up and that her supervisor will be upset with violating the anonymous rule in place. Mia apologizes and tells her she is an idiot when Nathan walks in, saying he looked like an idiot. Alex shows up at Julian's telling him she looked bad trying to talk to Chase. She then asks him why Mia is always there when Julian points out that her label is there. Alex tells him that Chase flirted with Mia right in front of her and asks why guys do stuff like that. Julian says he doesn't know but will ask the guys later during "bonding" time if he can figure out how to do that. Alex says that guys aren't hard to figure out giving that they like sex and poker. Alex says she would go with sex but suggests Julian goes with poker and that it is for Clay since it is so last minute and he almost died. Julian says that she is very good at trapping people to which Alex agrees and asks if he can invite Chase and let her be the dealer so that Mia can't sway him one way.

Nathan tells Haley he hasn't felt that dumb since high school and doesn't have anyone to beat up like he did back then. Haley tells him not to beat himself up giving this was his first try. She then tells him how she screwed up as well with Erin. Nathan says they are both a couple of screw ups to which Haley says "Always and Forever." Nathan and Haley both get phone calls, Nathan gets one from Julian while Haley gets one from Brooke. Haley answers Brooke who tells her to come to the expo to save her from Julian's mom. She tells Haley how she is trying on tiaras, wedding dresses, and is even having her pick out ugly bridesmaid dresses to which Haley responds telling her she is on her way. Haley says she is going to save Brooke while Nathan says he is going to gamble all his money at poker with Julian. Alex is helping Julian through his calls to which she says he is acting like he is asking them all to prom. Julian says he should have called Clay first in case he cancels and would then have to call Nathan again. Alex calls him a "wuss" and tells him just to call Clay. On the phone, Clay thinks that Julian is Jamie and asks about the frog he found and then Julian corrects him. He asks Clay about poker and agrees to come play. Julian ends the call in celebration when he gets a text from Nathan asking to have the game at his house. Alex looks around at Julian's poker-themed decorations and says it's probably a good idea. Julian envisions Nathan, Clay, Skills, Mouth, and Chase all fighting to be his best man and then snaps back to reality and gives himself a pep talk about being cool. He opens the door to Nathan's saying hi to everyone and they all look annoyed. When Alex walks in, the guys all confirm that annoyance with Alex and are disappointed Julian invited a girl to poker night. At the expo, Sylvia keeps giving Brooke wedding dresses she doesn't want when Haley shows up. Brooke asks what she thinks, hoping Haley can get her out of the situation, and Haley says she looks beautiful. Sylvia is pleased and says she told Brooke it was the dress. Brooke gets mad at Haley telling her she needs her help which Haley says it's the pregnancy hormones and that she is really excited Brooke is getting married. At Nathan's, Alex is shuffling and tells them all she can cut the deck with her tongue. Julian is about to move some chip pieces when Skills stops him, telling him they are Lucas's chips, seeing that Skills brought the mannequin version of Lucas Scott. Nathan gives Julian some chips and the game starts. Clay then asks Julian how the documentary is going and before Julian can respond, Nathan says he is surprised Clay didn't send him to ask. Julian says that it is going well when Skills asks what it is about. Julian tells him and that he has spent the past few days interviewing Mouth. Chase chimes in and says that it is weird Julian hasn't interviewed him giving that he is Mouth's boss. Julian changes the subject and asks Clay how he is feeling and Clay says he feels better since he hasn't been able to leave home and felt like he had been going crazy. Alex then says that she doesn't understand how he could since he can see the ocean from his bed, revealing the fact to everyone that they previously slept together in "Hold My Hand As I'm Lowered". Chase doesn't know they slept together but asks Alex how she knows to which Alex says nothing. Julian then suggests that they all get snacks.

Sylvia is getting a snack at the expo when Brooke and Haley walk over and she says to them they need to talk to a certain catering person for the wedding. Brooke then asks Sylvia if they can slow down since she just wanted to get ideas and isn't ready to commit right away. Brooke tells Sylvia she was thinking about giving out appetizers throughout the night but Sylvia shuts this down as well saying that she needs to provide a full course meal for her guests as they will be expecting it. At Nathan's, Chase figures out that Alex slept with Clay and says that she will just sleep with anyone. Alex denies this saying she wouldn't sleep with anyone here and mixes up Fergie and Junk. Skills says that everyone mixes the two up and Junk says so does Lauren, with Mouth and Skills. Chase then tells Alex that Mouth is available to learn from about bartending and tells her to be honest. Alex tells Chase she never lied to him and he says that she didn't but that she kept out the part about using him. Nathan uses that comment and says there is a lot of that going around. Clay asks Nathan how long he is going to stay mad at him and says he would have stayed home playing trivia with Haley if he wanted to look stupid and he didn't have to go to Atlanta. Julian asks him why he was there and Nathan says he doesn't know and turns to Clay asking him. Julian wins this game with a full house. A new game starts but Nathan continues asking Clay to tell everyone why he was there. Clay says he got stuck on an escalator and Julian jokes about thinking the end had teeth when he was a kid. Everyone laughs at this and Nathan tells him if being an agent puts his friends up to fail, he wants no part of the agency. Everyone talks about Clay needing to change the name of his agency, Fortitude, to something else. Julian then wins this game and asks who wants a drink. At the expo, Sylvia is filling up a glass at a champagne fountain when Brooke begs Haley to start agreeing with her. Sylvia suggests the champagne fountain and Brooke says it won't be at her wedding and Haley finally agrees with Brooke. Brooke walks Haley to the exit saying that her hormones aren't helping Brooke make decisions. Haley tells her to go easy on Sylvia. Clay starts making fun of Skills' name saying it isn't even his real name and Julian says that nicknames are cool. Julian asks Fergie how he got his and he tells him his name is Ferguson. Julian turns to Junk and he tells him his parents own a junkyard then Mouth explains how he got his. He says that when they were all kids, Nathan came up to him at the river court and told him he had a big mouth and punched him. Marvin's nickname became Mouth from that day on. Nathan denies it and Skills said it actually happened. Nathan says he was a jerk and apologizes, obviously not remembering he had done that. Nathan looks at Clay and tells him that is how friends apologize to each other. Chase says he is glad he never had a nickname to which Fergie and Skills laugh. Mouth says he did and that it was "Chased". Haley goes back to her desk looking to see again if Erin left any messages and she hasn't. At Nathan's, Alex asks why that was Chase's nickname and Nathan says it's because he was in a virgin club in high school, referring to Clean Teens. Alex says she thinks it is sweet and that they didn't have that at her school. Chase responds stating they didn't because she went there. Julian wins again and everyone leaves. Julian then asks no one who wants to be his best man.

Brooke is looking for Sylvia and finds her passed out on a bench, holding the dress she thought Brooke looked beautiful in. The guys are all leaving Nathan's when Clay asks if they want to get a drink at Tric. Clay, Nathan, Alex, and Julian stay to talk to each other. Julian finds Alex crying by Nathan's pool. Alex is upset because she didn't get to talk to him since he was so mean to her the whole night. Julian responds stating he didn't think it bothered her. Alex tells him she's an actress and the only reason she came back was to apologize to Chase and states that it is worse than before she left. Julian tells her to go fix it with Chase at Tric and to just be herself, no acting this time. Julian says she is a good actress but an even better person and Chase needs to see that. Alex disagrees and admits to Julian that she had been picking out cards from the bottom of the deck so that Julian could win and bond with the guys. Alex says she forgot guys hate losing money more than they love sex and poker. Julian says he was always better friends with girls anyway and they leave. Clay apologizes to Nathan about not preparing him for Atlanta. Nathan accepts it and says he doesn't think he could be an agent anyway because he never studied in school because he was good at basketball. Clay says that is why he should be one because Nathan is one of the few people who actually played professionally and the other stuff, he will learn eventually. Clay tells Nathan how much he believes in him and that Troy agrees with him because he wants Nathan to be his agent. Clay congratulates Nathan on signing his first client and gives him his business card with Fortitude. Clay then tells him that the term escalator is about playing time and performance and Nathan says it's a fancy term for bonus. Clay leaves telling Nathan he is already talking like an agent. Brooke is putting a drunk Sylvia to bed and she tells Brooke how wonderful she is and thanks her for loving Julian. She tells Brooke how happy Julian is and how much it means to her. Sylvia tells Brooke that she always wanted a daughter and that their time at the expo was everything she dreamed it would be. Brooke tells her she had fun as well and to get some sleep. Sylvia tells Brooke before she leaves not to tell Julian she was drinking as this usually worries him.

Haley is packing up her things at Tric when Erin shows up, complementing her studio. Haley apologizes saying she never should have betrayed Erin's trust and Erin asks her if she truly liked her music or if she just didn't want a crisis on her hands. Haley says she really liked her music and Erin leaves. Alex approaches Chase and apologizes about the way she left things between them and for not telling him about the movie. She says she didn't tell him because she didn't want to ruin things between them because she loved what they had. Chase responds calling it a good speech and asks who wrote it. Alex tells him that it is the truth when Mia approaches. Chase kisses Mia in front of Alex and says to her that the truth hurts. Alex slaps him across the face and leaves. Chase then apologizes to Mia and she slaps him across the face as well and leaves. Mouth and Skills recorded the whole thing and tell Chase he will be in the documentary now. Julian walks into the bedroom and asks Brooke how the expo was. Brooke tells him that his mom had a good time and Julian asks about he. Brooke then says that they both had a good time. Brooke then asks how guy bonding went and Julian says that guys are mean and that he missed being with Brooke. He then tells Brooke he won 200 dollars and found his best man. He brings in the mannequin of Lucas Scott as his best man and says it is either him or Junk/Fergie. Brooke sees salami on the lamp and asks why, Julian says he saw a bee. Haley tells Nathan that Erin is coming back tomorrow and that she didn't mess up as bad as she thought. Nathan says she never does and that he didn't do so bad either. He tells Haley that Troy want him to be his agent and Haley congratulates him. Nathan says that neither of them are screw ups and Haley asks if Nathan picked up Jamie from Chuck's and Nathan says he thought Haley did. They both leave and get Jamie.
