“If you had a friend you knew you would never see again what would you say? If you could do one last thing for someone you love what would it be? Say it, do it, don’t wait. Nothing lasts forever.”
―Brooke Davis in the last episode[src]

Brooke Penelope Baker (née Davis), better known both personally and professionally as Brooke Davis, is a fashion designer and entrepreneur from Tree Hill, North Carolina. The daughter and only child of Robert ("Ted") and Victoria Davis, Brooke eventually married Julian Baker, with whom she has twin sons, Davis and Jude Baker. One of the original "core five" characters, she is the only character to appear in every episode of the series since her first introduction in The Places You Have Come To Fear The Most, but is the only one of the “core five” who doesn’t appear in Pilot.

Originally portrayed as outgoing, promiscuous and very messed up because of her toxic family (in particular her mother) which brought a lot of emotional instability into her, Brooke's characterization then changed a lot over the course of the series.

Revealing a lot of her problematic and immature traits while being with Lucas Scott, the two went through an exhausting and unhealthy on-again, off-again relationship, which was part of a complicated love triangle involving also her best friend, Peyton Sawyer, whom Lucas had loved since childhood. In fact, at the beginning of the series, Peyton started reciprocating his feelings, while Brooke became interested in him too despite knowing his and Peyton’s feelings for each other. After Peyton rejected him due to her fear of letting someone in, Lucas and Brooke started dating, although it was clearly a rebound thing on his part. Soon after, Lucas and Peyton gave into their feelings and ended up cheating on Brooke (despite not sleeping together), but, when Lucas broke up with Brooke in order to be with her, Peyton felt too bad and guilty for her best friend and thus decided to tearfully let Lucas go, forcing him to move on. Meanwhile, Brooke found out about the betrayal and was enraged, to the point she pretended to be pregnant to take revenge on him, but, after some time, he tried to reconcile with her, wanting to give their relationship a real try: after going through other several ups and downs, the two got back together. However, it didn’t last again due to their incompatibility and his lingering feelings for Peyton: in fact, after a brief relationship, they broke up for good, accepting they were wrong for each other and not meant to be, and in the meantime he found his way back to Peyton, his one true love.

Then, Brooke moved on and understood she needed time for herself and started to concentrate on her dreams and her personal growth, in particular focusing on Clothes Over Bros, a fashion venture she created after realizing her passion for design during one of the many crises with Lucas to distract herself. During this time, she befriended Rachel Gatina, her former rival, and eventually entered into a brief but very much healthier relationship with newcomer Chase Adams, whom she remained with until after graduation.

After the series' four-year time jump between season four and season five, Brooke was depicted as a highly successful businesswoman and fashion designer living in New York, serving as the chief creative officer and head designer of Clothes Over Bros, which had expanded to become a multi-million dollar enterprise with the help of her mother, Victoria Davis, whom she had a strained relationship with and who also served as the chief executive of the company. Despite appearing content in her life in New York, she felt as though money and power were not enough to warrant happiness and, after a phone conversation with Peyton, she understood she needed to come back home to Tree Hill under the guise of opening a C/B clothing boutique in the former storefront of Karen's Café and to reconnect with her friends and her emotional side, put apart during that years.

Navigating young adulthood over the course of the fifth and sixth season, Brooke struggled to open her heart again due to the numerous heartbreaks she faced during her childhood and adolescence. This would ultimately changed, however, upon meeting filmmaker Julian Baker in the sixth season: the two fell for each other, finally giving her the great love story she deserved. For the remainder of the series, Brooke's romance with Julian became central for her character and faced numerous obstacles, namely Brooke's unwillingness to open herself to Julian, their attempt at maintaining a long-distance relationship, and the thorn in her side that was Alex Dupre. Despite a brief separation in the seventh season, Brooke and Julian got married in season eight amid the heartbreaking news of her inability to have children. Much to their surprise, however, Brooke gave birth to twin sons Davis and Jude Baker later in the season.

During this time, Brooke lost control of Clothes Over Bros, as the company she had founded in high school forced her and her mother out amid financial problems. With the help of her longtime friend Haley James Scott, however, Brooke converted her former Tree Hill clothing boutique into a café and restaurant by reopening Karen's Café. In the ninth and final season, Brooke navigated a professional rivalry with Tara Richards, the owner of Tree Hill Café. After resolving their differences and the closure of Tara's café, Brooke's parents helped her purchase the property so that she could return to fashion by opening Baker Man, a business venture that specializes in infants' clothing.

Background[]

Before birth[]

When I was your age, I dreamed of having a clothing line, of having a business, of all the things you have. But I stupidly fell in love. And one morning, your father and I got a little surprise. I told him I didn't want kids. It was never the plan. But he wanted a son more than anything. And as soon as I got fat, he had an excuse to jump into any bed he wanted. And when we had our little baby girl, I made sure I would never be pregnant again. If I couldn't have my dream, your father couldn't have his, either. I probably took it out on you a little too much along the way, but you know what? You should be thanking me for giving you life.

Before she was born, Brooke's mother, Victoria Montgomery, fell in love with a man of lower social standing than herself. As a result, her parents, Mr and Mrs Montgomery, didn't approve of their relationship and pushed her to leave her boyfriend and instead marry Ted Davis, son of the wealthy Robert Davis Sr. With dreams of owning her own fashion line and with no plans for children, Victoria's life was turned upside down after learning she was pregnant. While Ted desperately wanted a son, Victoria felt as if her life plans had been placed on hold for a child she did not want. To add insult to injury, during Victoria's pregnancy, Ted cheated on her on more than one occasion, leaving Victoria bitter and jaded. In an act of spite, after the birth of their daughter Brooke on March 4, 1989, Victoria made sure she could no longer have children because if she couldn't have her dream, her deceitful husband wouldn't have his either. The resentment Ted and Victoria Davis held for each other provided an unhealthy family dynamic for their daughter's upbringing and would have a lasting effect on her personal development through adulthood.

Early life[]

Brooke Penelope Davis was born on March 4th 1989, in New Brunswick County Hospital in Tree Hill, North Carolina, to parents Robert Theodore ("Ted") Davis Jr. and Victoria Anne Davis (née Montgomery). She was born into a very privileged lifestyle but her parents paid her little attention, and due to her parent's negligence, Brooke felt unwanted by both her family and the guys she had one night stands with. ("Things I Forgot at Birth").

At the age of nine, Brooke formed a close friendship with her classmate Peyton Sawyer after the death of Peyton's mother. In order to help Peyton through this difficult time, Brooke went to her house every day and spent time with her. As the two grew older, they grew closer and began to think of each other as sisters with the motto "hoes over bros" as they believed boys could never interfere with their close friendship. However, that was proven wrong as the drama between Lucas began to rear it's head.

Upon reaching high school, Brooke had Morgan Finley (the head of cheerleader) as mentor and later became herself the head cheerleader and quickly developed a reputation around school as being outgoing and often promiscuous.

Brooke made a photo album of her birthdays throughout her life. From the age of nine, she spent every birthday with Peyton and every page in her album was full of pictures of the two best friends. They made a ritual that every year, they went into a mall towards closing time and Peyton would steal something for her best friend, as Brooke loved the adrenaline rush. When the girls went home, Peyton would tell her dad, who knew the manager, and they would give the money to him the following day. This was never told to Brooke ("Things I Forgot at Birth"). Sometimes, her father took her for a ride on his boat with Peyton ("The Desperate Kingdom of Love") .

Brooke was also heavily involved in her school, being captain of the cheerleading squad, Student Council Body President, Homecoming Queen, Founder of DWnotI and a member of both the Spirit Club and Clean Teens throughout her years in high school. ("Ashes of Dreams You Let Die") She began to keep a Diary. ("Anyone Who Had A Heart")

At 15 years old her father told her that her dress magnified her. Later Brooke's husband blamed Ted for that ("Anyone Who Had A Heart").

At some point during their sophomore year, a drunken Brooke found Nathan Scott, Peyton's boyfriend, at a party and after Nathan told her that Peyton broke up with him, again, they proceeded to sleep together (with Brooke admitting she was very drunk). While they prepared to have sex, Nathan set up his video camera and, although Brooke was initially unsure, Nathan promised her no one would ever see it. She then told him that she would "die if anybody saw it" but Nathan reassured her that no one would know and they slept together ("Prom Night at Hater High").

During her teen years, from ages 15 to 18 Brooke kept a diary. She wrote it regularly and often spoke of her parents and their lack of love for her. For the Burning Boat Festival, she wrote that she wanted throw her parents in the boat. Later Brooke will give her diary to her husband before throwing it in the boat of the new Burning Boat Festival ("Anyone Who Had A Heart").

Brooke's reputation around school continued into her junior year where she continued to head the cheerleading squad but her eye was caught by Lucas Scott, the newest member of the Ravens team and the half-brother of Nathan Scott. She let her best friend, Peyton Sawyer, know that she was interested in the new player, despite Lucas and Peyton sharing a connection that neither of them truly understood. Despite knowing that Peyton had some interest in Lucas, her being with Nathan allowed Brooke to playfully pursue Lucas. The difference between Brooke and Peyton soon became apparent, as Brooke was fully involved in high school life while Peyton saw more of the bigger picture wanting to break free from the elitist and popular world that Brooke cherished. However, Brooke told Peyton that she loved her because regardless of what problems she was going through, Peyton was always there with Brooke on game night — and she was one of them. Lucas finds Brooke in his car half-naked. ("Are You True?")

Brooke then started to actively pursue Lucas, using her signature move on him by climbing into the backseat of his car partially naked to try and seduce him. After they were caught by Coach Whitey Durham, Brooke asked Lucas how it felt to have his whole world change, given that his presence on the basketball team would make him one of the popular crowd. Peyton then noted that Brooke was being uncharacteristically persistent with Lucas, as she would have usually moved on by now, and Brooke responded that she maybe wants something real instead of meaningless flings. However, Lucas didn't see her this way and continued to play along with her flirtations still telling Brooke that she didn't have to act like that around him. ("Are You True?") ("Crash Into You")

On the anniversary of Peyton's mother's death, Peyton broke down in practice and took her anger out on Brooke, saying that she should be embarrassed that learning cheer routines, sleeping with popular guys, and attending parties are the most important things in her life, leaving Brooke feeling hurt. However, knowing the reasons behind Peyton's problems, Brooke quickly let their argument go and by the time the first away game of the season arrived, they were back on talking terms. During the game, in which the Ravens headed to Pickerington to face the Pirates, Brooke was caught in between one of Lucas and Nathan's fights. When she was being treated by a medical student, she flirted with him, persuading him to give her extremely strong pain killers which she swallowed whole, despite his urgency that she should take half a pill every twelve hours. Extremely high, Brooke was forced to ride home with Peyton and subsequently asked Haley to join them. In the car ride that ensued, Brooke kept Haley and Peyton amused as they continued to bond and form a friendship. However, after her pills wore off she noticed her best friend's budding relationship with the tutor and commented that it was sad that they believed they could be friends back at school. Brooke finds Haley's note to Nathan and decides to stir up trouble. ("Life in a Glass House")

With the end of Nathan and Peyton's relationship apparent, Brooke started to meddle in their shattered romance. During class, Brooke told Nathan that she was bringing Peyton to the annual basketball appreciation party at the Scott household and lied to him, saying that Peyton wanted to get back together with him partly to reunite the couple and partly to watch the fireworks. At the party, Brooke became drunk began messing up both the budding relationships between Lucas and Peyton and Nathan and Haley. First, while in Nathan's room, she found the exam preparation box Haley had given him containing an encouraging note and chose to come in between Nathan and Haley and used it. When Haley arrived at the party, Brooke lied and told her that Nathan passed her note around, devastating Haley who then fled the party leaving her relationship with Nathan in pieces. Finally, in a bid to force Peyton to reveal her true feelings for Lucas, Brooke dared her to kiss him during a game of truth or dare, which she did, resulting in Nathan asking her why she was being such a bitch. ("Life in a Glass House")

A more caring and remorseful Brooke came to light the morning after, when she awoke with a hazy memory and a guilty feeling and decided to swear off drinking to amend her karma. In a bid to make amends, Brooke organized a date between Nathan and a reluctant Haley and set them on their path to becoming a couple. To pick herself up, she took Peyton to a college party at Duke. Despite attracting the attention of many guys, Brooke's time at the party came to an end when she found a college student had drugged Peyton's drink and Brooke narrowly stopped him from date raping her. After calling Lucas, they returned Peyton to her house and both spent the night caring for her, prompting Lucas to see Brooke in a new light. Lucas and Brooke both then took an interest in each other and Brooke challenged Lucas to show his fun side by agreeing to go on a date with her. Brooke and Lucas spent the night at a bar, where Brooke brought out the fun side of Lucas and the night resulted in Lucas getting a tattoo. Brooke remained oblivious to the effect her budding relationship was having on Peyton and continued to pursue Luke. While spending the night at Lucas', they were interrupted by Peyton who came to Luke's to confess her feelings for him, but was stopped by Brooke's presence. While the three remained in an awkward silence, Brooke gave Peyton a look, signaling the start of their transformation from best friends to rivals for Lucas' affection. The situation left Lucas with a choice to make between Peyton or Brooke. ("The Search for Something More") ("With Arms Outstretched")

Brooke and Lucas argue over her possible pregnancy. ("How Can You Be Sure?")

Lucas initially chose Brooke, turning Peyton down, and the next morning introduced Brooke to Keith Scott as his new girlfriend, although he wondered if he had made the right choice with Brooke, citing to Haley that he chose her only because, unlike Peyton, she isn't covered head to toe in issues. Peyton initially avoided Brooke while at school and Brooke eventually caught up to her, asking to talk about Lucas. Despite Peyton's clear resentment of Brooke and Lucas' relationship, she kept quiet about her own feelings, having seen how happy Brooke apparently was. Brooke started to recognize that Lucas was causing a problem between her and Peyton and went to her house to tell Peyton that she would never let a boy come between them - citing their catchphrase "hoes over bros" to her friend. Peyton lied to Brooke, saying that she was fine with her relationship with Lucas. At the open mic night at Karen's Cafe, Peyton struggled to be around Lucas and Brooke when they were together and Brooke confronted her about it, and Peyton finally told her that she wasn't okay with her new relationship. However, Peyton was unable to tell Brooke how she felt and instead lied to her saying that the only problem was that she missed her. ("You Gotta Go There to Come Back")

Then, the whole situation precipitated when Lucas realized he had made a mistake: he didn’t love Brooke and Peyton was the one for him. This realization of him led to a lot of messy consequences (like Lucas cheating on Brooke with Peyton and Brooke pretending to be pregnant to take revenge on him), which resulted in the end of his relationships with both girls.

Embarrassed, Brooke leaves to go to Karen's house to pack her remaining clothes to move out into Haley and Nathan's former apartment. Lucas finds her there and gives her some wild flowers he collected on the way, to offset the earlier confusion. She mentions her idea of them having a summer fling, 'just in the fall’. Lucas laughingly goes along with her, questioning exactly what friends with benefits means, and if they are allowed to kiss. Brooke says that she wants them to have a fling, yet they will date other people. The conversation then turns to Peyton, and how Brooke is just about to go over and speak to her about the whole Ellie scenario. Later, when Brooke arrives at her new apartment, she runs into a nostalgic Haley and informs her that she has rented her former residence. Brooke defends Haley saying that maybe she 'just got afraid of needing someone too much' and this seems to placate Peyton. Arriving at Karen's Café, Brooke invites Haley to room with her at the apartment, suggesting that it works for both of them because Haley won't be homeless or get 'crabs at a shelter'. When Haley shows at the apartment, Brooke says that she won't judge her about the whole situation with Nathan and greets her.

Soon after Haley moves in with Brooke, she discovers 82 hidden letters which are all addressed to Lucas, but Brooke didn't send to him because she was scared of getting heart broken again. Rachel Gatina, a feisty red-head, soon arrives in Tree Hill - causing a lot of problems for Brooke and Lucas. Rachel first tries stealing Brooke's cheerleading squad, leading towards her having a confrontation with Brooke on the court, which then led to a huge brawl. At the end of the episode Brooke finds Lucas with a naked Rachel in the backseat of his car, which is exactly what Brooke did for her signature move when she and Lucas first met. Brooke snaps at Rachel, telling her it was one year ago. To Lucas's confusion because he really doesn’t understand her and what she wants, he asks Brooke, leading the two to get into a huge fight during which she tells him that she wanted him to fight for her, at which he asks how he was supposed to know that since she was going on with all these immature behaviors and not telling him what she really wanted.

Brooke organizes a Fantasy Boy Draft in order to keep Lucas and Rachel apart and to keep the cheerleading squad from fighting. Unbeknownst to her, Rachel has stacked the deck in her favor, leaving herself with Lucas and Brooke with Chris Keller. That night, however, Lucas goes to Brooke's apartment and is horrified to find that she and Chris have slept together. Brooke is mortified and desperate to earn Lucas' forgiveness. She tells Haley and Peyton that she’s slept with Chris because she's been drinking heavily and he has been very kind to her. As she tries to mend her relationship with Lucas, she busies herself with her fashion line. Later, she tearfully showes up on Lucas' doorstep with her box of letters she’s written him to confess her feelings and they reconcile, deciding to start a real relationship. Brooke grows concerned for Mouth when Rachel eventually sets her sights on him and came to believe she was trying to steal his friendship from her. She is grateful when Rachel submits her designs to Rogue Vogue (despite hoping it would have been Lucas who had done that for her), although her happiness quickly turned to shock when she learns that the cheerleading tournament and Rogue Vogue is scheduled in the same weekend, thus she would be unable to captain the team. Her worry for Mouth remains.

Brooke drives to Rogue Vogue with Haley and Peyton, and there she learns that her designs wouldn't be on display until the next day when they would have to take a flight back to Tree Hill. She quickly finds that the city life in New York isn't as she thought it would be, and is moritifed after an older man tries to advance on her. The day of the cheerleading competition, it is seen that Brooke had left New York to come cheer with the squad. Rachel stresses the importance of victory, while Brooke counters this by telling everyone to simply have fun. The routine quickly gets out of hand, but soon turns into something memorable as the girls and the Ravens begin to dance.

However, some time later, after she’s definitely cleared her mind, Peyton admits to Brooke she was right and that she’s still in love with Lucas: this puts a strain in their friendship once again. Brooke is taunted by her mother by saying she will take over the company but Brooke has a new clothing line in sketches she is presenting to the board. Victoria demands her to give her the sketches to which Brooke says no. Brooke is assaulted and badly beaten by a masked assailant at the end of the season six premiere. Not wanting to go to the authorities to report the assault and attract bad publicity, Brooke instead turns to Deb in hopes of keeping it a secret and learning to shoot a gun. Nathan visits Brooke at her home to tell her he will be there for her if she needs him because she's always been there for his family. Nathan realizes he and Brooke are alike in many ways so he can relate to her problems. Brooke attends Quentin Field's funeral to support Lucas, Nathan, Haley, Skills, and Jamie with their loss. As Jamie places Q's cape over his casket, Brooke breaks down for the first time since her attack. Jamie comforts her by holding her hand. Brooke regrets the lack of family in her life but after a talk with Haley and Jamie realizes she has everything she needs. She travels to New York to confront Victoria over the attack, who firmly denies any involvement. Brooke then gives up ownership of Clothes Over Bro's to Victoria. Brooke bonds with Sam and eventually becomes her foster mother. Brooke also reveals to Peyton the truth about her attack. Owen returns to Tree Hill and attempts to win Brooke back, but they are slow to reconnect romantically. When they eventually discuss the issue, Brooke states that she's not ready for a relationship since she wants to focus on her new foster daughter, Sam, for a while. Afterward, they part on friendly terms. Brooke makes up with her mother. ("Remember Me as a Time of Day")

Brooke is approached by Julian to design the costumes for Lucas' movie, which she initially declines, but decides to think about it. Brooke briefly clashed with Sam over a boy named Jack spent the night. She later reveals to Sam that she was attacked. As Jack and Sam begin talking about Brooke, they talk about how Sam once said that Brooke needed to be "put in her place". A smitten Jack listened to Sam and had someone attack Brooke for Sam's pleasure. Sam realizes this and gets the stolen sketches back, and when she shows them to Brooke, Brooke begins breaking down, and seeing this, Sam leaves again. Brooke begins searching for Sam and gets into a fight with Owen along the way. She goes to the cafe Sam frequents and bumps into Julian, who walks out. The waitress tells Brooke that Julian inquired about Sam, and she begins considering him as a decent guy (possibly romantically). At the conclusion of the episode, a heartbroken Sam gets into a car with Jack and his brother, and it is revealed that Jack's brother was actually the one who attacked Brooke. It is also revealed that this is the same guy who murdered Quentin. Brooke goes in search of Sam with Peyton by her side. After searching all over Tree Hill and finding little help from a police officer (due to Sam not being missing long enough), she realizes Sam must be at her friend Jack Daniels' house, and gets the address from Haley. She tells Peyton she wants to confront Sam alone because they have a lot to talk about and goes to Jack's house by herself. She doesn't find Jack or Sam there, but she does meet with Jack's older brother, X, who has Sam bound and gagged in a closet. X denies knowing where Sam is, and he talks in a sexually suggestive manner to Brooke, who thinks he is weird but is unfazed. As Brooke walks down the sidewalk after the visit, he says "Have a nice night" which is the same line her attacker uttered as she lay bleeding on the floor of her store after the attack. Brooke realizes that X is the one who beat her, and that he must have Sam. She

bangs on the door and when he opens it, she sprays mace in his face and beats him until he's incapacitated, then rushes through the house looking for Sam. As she finds her, Sam begs her to leave, but Brooke refuses. She starts to undo the tape binding her, but X sneaks up behind Brooke and drags her away as Sam screams. X tries to strangle Brooke, but she spits in his face and knocks him away. Brooke runs, but X chases her and knocks her to the floor. The pair struggle and X indicates that he is going to kill Brooke and enjoy it and that she is just a weak little rich girl. But Brooke finds her purse, grabs her gun and stands with it pointed at X's head, telling him the rich little girl is going to stay awhile as Julian and Jack rush into the house and Sam breaks free of the last of the tape. Brooke cocks the gun, tells Rex she hates him and that she isn't the same girl that he attacked, and is about to shoot him, but Sam begs her not to, calling Brooke "Mom" and saying she needs her. Brooke knocks her attacker unconscious with the gun instead and kicks him over, telling him to "Have a nice night." After the police arrive, they find Quentin's wallet and Brooke realizes X is Q's murderer and cries on Julian's shoulder. Peyton tells Brooke about her pregnancy, and Brooke is thrilled, even though it was Brooke who wanted a family the most. Meanwhile, after agreeing to do the costumes for Lucas' movie, Brooke invites Julian over. Sam makes fun of Brooke by saying that it's a date, while Brooke insists it's simply a business meeting. Sam then says "his john's got a meeting with your lady business." After which Brooke calls Sam Samantha in a very Mom-like fashion. After a long night of drinking and conversation about their parents, Julian and Brooke realize they are alike in many ways. At the end of the episode, the two begin making out. Peyton catches the drift that Brooke and Julian are starting a romantic relationship and warns Brooke that after she broke up with him, he slept with an A-list actress after his movie premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. Later, Peyton receives a visit from Julian's dad, with whom Peyton seems to have a great relationship with, and he tells her that Julian not only did not have sex with a famous actress after Sundance but did not even go to his own movie premiere because he was so depressed after their breakup. Peyton tells this to Brooke, and Brooke decides that Julian is worth the trouble, and Brooke and Julian officially start a romantic relationship. Brooke sleeps with Julian and later tells Peyton, who yet again reassures her that it's not violating "girl code" since they s

hared three guys already: 'sex tape' (Nathan), Lucas, and now Julian. Brooke meets the girl playing her in Lucas' movie, Missy, and Missy basically stalks Brooke trying to imitate her every move, even going so far as doing Brooke's "signature move" of stripping down in Brooke's backseat. Brooke and Julian are really happy together until she finds out Missy is always implying Brooke is a slut because she was told that Brooke's major role in high school was sex. Brooke confronts Julian and tells him "High School Brooke graduated", then temporarily breaks up with him. He then shows her a re-created manuscript in which it now reads a long list of Brooke's character traits that she has now, and this appears to mend their relationship. Brooke storms out of her room and into the bathroom yelling at Julian for "something inappropriate that he did". It turns out he told her that he loves her, and she struggles with telling him she loves him back. Brooke repeatedly tells him that she cares very deeply for him, but she's not in love with him yet because it's too soon. Julian decides to call it a "deleted scene" so they can start fresh. Brooke goes to the police station and bails out Sam after she is caught shoplifting, and yells at her, calling her "unfixable". Sam thinks this is because of a fight she is having with Julian since Brooke is ignoring all his phone calls. During another argument between the two, Julian calls and Sam grabs Brooke's phone and answers it, then gives it to Brooke, and Julian tells her the movie has been shut down and he is returning to Los Angeles. He comes and says goodbye to her, and yet again tells her he loves her before leaving. She apologizes to Sam after Julian tells her the shoplifting was only to protect Jack, and to make it up to her, Brooke finds Jack and allows him to spend the night. Thinking that Julian

left for L.A. the night before, she is confused when he comes to see her in her store. She soon finds out he is leaving that night, but it's not goodbye because he has two tickets for her and Sam to come with him. She spends the episode wrestling with her decision since she has many factors to consider such as moving Sam around, her store, being Peyton's maid of honor, knowing him for only one month, etc. In the end, she does go to the airport, but to tell him she's not coming. They share one final kiss and Julian then boards a plane back home. Victoria returns to Tree Hill and attempts to lure Brooke back to Clothes Over Bros after the company goes under. Victoria guilts her into it by telling her if she doesn't return, hundreds of employees will be out of work, and this hits a soft spot in Brooke and she returns to the company with a 51/49% split between her and Victoria, and Brooke says that Victoria still doesn't have a daughter. She also goes to the hospital after Peyton's accident and Lucas tells her about Peyton's condition, and she passes the news on to Haley. Sam also yells at her for locking her heart and letting Julian go. She finds it hard to have Victoria around again, especially since she is getting very close to Sam, which makes Brooke jealous because she believes Victoria is trying to be to Sam what she never was to Brooke. She reaches her breaking point when she finds out Victoria has been hiding and shredding letters addressed to Sam from her birth mother. She shows Sam the letters, and gives her blessing for Sam to get to know her real mother, although, in actuality, it hurts Brooke to see this. A month after Sam meets her mother, she continues to speak with her and she gets to know her well. Seeing she may be losing Sam, Brooke draws up adoption papers. Victoria forces Brooke to ambush Sam with them, but Sam instead says she wants to go live with her birth mother. She leaves Brooke, and Brooke is broken-hearted. On the day of Lucas and Peyton's wedding, Brooke puts the finishing touches on Peyton's wedding dress and they have an emotional conversation about how Peyton wants Brooke to be there for Lucas and the baby in case she doesn't make it through the dangerous delivery. Lucas surprises her by telling her that he has invited Julian to the wedding to be her date, but Julian reveals he already has a date - Missy, the girl that was to play Brooke in Lucas' shut-down movie. In retaliation, Brooke gets Nick Lachey to be her date. Throughout the night Brooke

and Julian use their respective partners to make each other jealous, but at the end of the night, Brooke and Julian are left alone and Brooke tells him she misses him and can't deal with seeing him again, and she leaves. He goes to the store to find her but runs into Victoria, and he tells her off about the way she belittles Brooke and then says that he loves her and isn't giving up. Brooke returns to the store after Lucas and Peyton's wedding reception and asks Victoria if there were any messages, and she replies "no" without telling her what Julian said. She shows up at the hospital when Peyton has her emergency surgery. Four days later, Peyton is in a coma and Brooke has not left the hospital, and she is the second one to find out when Peyton wakes up (after Lucas). She says goodbye to Julian, who has been staying with her for moral support after Peyton goes into a coma.

The next day she visits Peyton and baby Sawyer, and Peyton tells Brooke that she and Lucas have made Sawyer's middle name Brooke in honor of her best friend. Victoria later tells her to go to L.A. and tell Julian she loves him because Victoria once let a boy go and has never forgiven herself, and she also tries to give Brooke full control of the company after realizing she loved the company more than Brooke and she shouldn't have because Brooke is her daughter and she loves her. After an emotional bonding between the two, Brooke asks Victoria to stay on as her partner, and takes her advice by going to see Julian on his movie set in L.A. and finally telling him she loves him, and the two kiss, officially putting their future together back on track.

Alex overhears them, and when she comes out of the dressing room wearing Brooke's dress, she plays Brooke into changing her mind, unaware that the speech Alex gave to win Brooke over was actually a line from the movie Brooke watched Alex in. Alex begins taking an immediate interest in Julian. Julian begins working on a movie with Alex, until Victoria notices her crush on him and informs Brooke. After Alex tells Brooke she stripped naked for Julian Brooke fires her and tells Julian to sleep onthe couch. On a gir'ls night with Haley, she assures Brooke that Julian loves her and he's not going anywhere. Brooke has a pregnancy scare and wants to tell Julian but he left to see Alex as he fears she will begin using drugs again, and she doesn't get the chance to. Brooke slaps her and tells her to stay away. When she gets home to find that Julian is still with Alex, she cries in front of her bathroom mirror and says to herself "why can't you be the one who gets the baby and the boy" before throwing her birth control pills in the garbage. However, it is revealed that the doctor not only told Brooke she isn't pregnant, but that she can never get pregnant. She tells this to Julian who feels guilty he wasn't there.. She also battles with Millicent after she demands to be paid $500,000 for being the face of Clothes Over Bro's (which she has become after Alex got fired), which hurts Brooke after all she's done for Millie and how ungrateful she's being despite of that. She tells Victoria about her problems with Millicent and how those problems are because of Alex's influence, and Victoria says she will "take care of Alex". Brooke is furious when Julian confides Alex that she can't have kids and that he wants kids. After talking with Victoria about the situation, Victoria helps her realize that Julian might not be the one for her, and she asks Julian to take another movie because she wants time to be alone with herself before she can trust him again. Julian calls her after he finds Alex in her bathtub after slitting her wrists, and she goes to the hospital to support her now estranged boyfriend. After finding out about Millicent's actions Brooke fires her and tells her to get help.

Believing Julian and Alex slept together, she punches Alex in the face on set the next day and gets banned from the set by Julian only to find out she actually slept with Alexander.. Once she realizes what a huge mistake she made, she apologizes to Julian and tells him the reason she's been acting so crazy is that she's still in love with him and misses him, and the two kiss and makeup. But first she apologized to Alex and realize she was sorry. They attend the funeral of Haley's mom together, Julian moves back in later that night, and they have a romantic evening alone. She attends Quinn's gallery opening and Julian tells her about Alex and Josh's sex tape, and Brooke tells Julian he should help Alex through it, which surprises him considering her jealous history with Alex. Julian shows Brooke his finished movie, and despite him thinking it's bad, Brooke tells him she loved it and encourages him to enter it in a film festival he's been too nervous to do. Victoria tells Brooke her she is returning to New York City and Alexander is coming with her to run Brooke's men's line, Clothes 4 Bros. As Victoria is about to leave, the two share a very emotional goodbye and Victoria tells Brooke how much she loves and how proud of her she is. Haley comes over to tell Brooke about her pregnancy but catches Brooke and Julian in a compromising position (as the two are barely dressed about to have sex). Shortly after Haley leaves, the police come to the door and arrest Brooke, and she is charged with a number of money-related crimes regarding Clothes Over Bros. Knowing she had nothing to do with this, a furious Brooke is released from jail and has Julian bring her to her store to meet with Victoria and Millicent, whom Julian had fly to Tree Hill from New York to deal with this, and the two of them eventually reveal that they lied about how much money the company makes to their investors to better support the launch of Clothes 4 Bros. Brooke watches as the company immediately goes under and her store gets shut down, its inventory then completely cleaned out. After a conversation with Millie asking her how she could have allowed and helped Victoria to do this, she seeks comfort in Julian and tells him everything's gone, but he reminds her she still has him, and always will. After meeting with the company lawyer to hear what they are being charged with and the consequences, she finds out about Quinn and Clay's shooting from Haley and goes to the hospital for support while Julian goes to pick up Jamie from the park. Brooke meets with Victoria and she tells Brooke that her and the lawyers have come up with a way for Brooke to keep the company, but won't tell Brooke specifically what that entails. Brooke and Julian take Jamie for the day while Nathan and Haley are at the hospital with Clay and Quinn and they play baseball at the park with him, and he sleeps over as well, telling them they will make great parents someday. Brooke gets a visit from Millicent and she is told that Victoria's plan to have Brooke keep the company is Victoria going to prison to take the blame, and after Brooke tries to stop her and tells her she doesn't want her to go, Victoria says she has to do it because it's her fault. She holds a press conference later that nigh, and promises her investors they will have all of their money back, then tells the press she looks forward to what comes next in her life. The morning of Halloween, a woman knocks on Brooke's door saying "trick or treat", and after Brooke insults her for being too old to be a trick or treater, she is shocked to find the woman is actually Julian's mom, Sylvia Baker, who's come a few weeks before the wedding, telling them that she will pay for their entire wedding to give them the wedding they've always dreamed about. However, Brooke soon comes to find out that Sylvia is very opinionated and does not like Brooke's tastes, wants, and desires for her wedding, arguing with Brooke on almost every topic, from the bridesmaids dresses to the food to the photographer, and even Brooke's desire to design her own wedding dress. After ruining most of the dishes she tries to cook for Thanksgiving dinner, she attends a large gathering at Nathan and Haley's for the holiday, where she's reunited with a fresh-out-of-prison Victoria, which Brooke is not pleased about at all, nor is she pleased that Victoria and Sylvia seem to be getting along great and bonding throughout the dinner. After having a bad daydream of her wedding going horribly wrong due to how poor she's become and how bad it will be as a result, she realizes she has no inspiration whatsoever to continue re-planning her wedding now that she can no longer have the wedding of her dreams. While going through some old boxes looking for something to inspire her, she and Julian find the list of things Brooke always wanted to try but never did, which Millie created for her back in Season 6 and includes things such as skydiving, watching every James Bond movie, getting drunk at Octoberfest, learning to speak French, and more, so Julian helps her do almost everything on the list, and afterward, he promises her that no matter what happens he will make sure that she will get to experience the final item left on her list, which is having a baby.

Relationships[]

Family[]

Brooke had a very strained relationship with her parents due to the fact neither parents wanted a child and tried to buy her love with money. During her teen years when they moved to LA Brooke refused to come with them and instead only came during one summer. This meant she barely had a relationship with her father or her mother. But once Brooke started CoB her mother became CEO and Brooke hoped they could form a good relationship but instead her mother ignore her and pressured her until Brooke fired her and Julian (Brooke's boyfriend) told Victoria what an awful mother she'd been and they finally recoiled and the two formed a very strong relationship. She later married Julian and together they had twin boys Davis and Jude even though Brooke was told she was sterile. The boys are like a miracle for Brooke and she passed veranyuch times with them and they are her priority.

Brook does not have any siblings, due to her mother not wanting anymore children. However, Brooke is extremely close to Peyton Sawyer from her childhood. Brooke is even the godmother of Peyton’s daughter: Sawyer Brooke Scott (who is named after Brooke). Brooke is also the godmother of James Lucas Scott, the son of Nathan Scott and Haley James Scott, her former roommate and other best friend. She loves Jamie and is like a second mother to him and she is considered an aunt to his sister, Lydia Scott.

Romantic relationships[]

Brooke had a reputation of being the bad girl. She was the most popular girl in high school and had sex with the hottest guys in Tree Hill. Brooke and Nathan had a one-night stand while Nathan was in a relationship with Peyton. The pair made a sex tape, which was played at a party during their senior year at Tree Hill High. When Lucas became part of the Ravens, he immediately caught Brooke's eye and she started flirting aggressively with him, despite Lucas telling her that she didn't have to act that way around him. However, after Peyton was drugged at a college party and Brooke called Lucas for help, the two spent the night together caring for her and Lucas got to know Brooke better, seeing a new side of her, then they began an exhausting and unhealthy on-again, off-again relationship which lasted about three seasons until they broke up for good, accepting once and for all they were wrong for each other and not meant to be. She also had relationships with: Felix Taggaro, Chris Keller, Nick Chavez, Nick Lachey, Chase Adams, and Owen Morello.

Brooke later finally meets the love of her life, Julian Baker, but is initially reluctant to confess her feelings for him after all the heartaches she went through in the past. They break up until Brooke travels to his movie set to tell him she loves him in the season 6 finale.

In the 7th season, after Brooke hires Alex to model for Clothes Over Bros, she sets her sights on Julian and for a short period Julian and Brooke split, but in the finale they get engaged and then get married in the 8th season. Despite that possibly Brooke can't have children, they are looking for having one because it is their biggest desire. After months of trying for having children Brooke discovers she's pregnant and after falling while only 7 months pregnant, she gives birth to two fraternal boys, Jude and Davis Baker.

Friendships[]

Brooke with her best friend Peyton and friend Lucas.

For Brooke, her friends are very important. Because of her parents absence in her life her friends became her 'true family'. She has a very close friendship with Peyton Sawyer Scott, since they were 8 years old, after the death of Peyton's adoptive mother. Their friendship becomes stronger along the series despite Brooke and Peyton's issues because of the Scott brothers, in particular the love triangle which they are involved in with Lucas. They are very protective of each other: Brooke risks her life for Peyton when she is attacked by Ian Banks and Peyton stands up for Brooke against Victoria. The two are so close that Peyton asks Brooke to take care of her unborn baby if she were to die and says in the tip she records for her daughter that she is very lucky to have Brooke as best friend. After Peyton's departure with her family, they stay very close anyway and talk on the phone. Brooke is also a long time friend of Nathan Scott. The beginning of the friendship was in early high school and it is presumed because of their similar social background that they’ve known each other from a long time. Both also have in common growing up in a very dysfunctional family. Besides, after her definitive break-up with Lucas, they both have decided to remain on good terms and friends from then on.

Brooke also develops a strong relationship with her former roommate, Haley James Scott. According to Haley, they’ve become friends the first night she, Brooke and Peyton have spent together after a Ravens' game as they had to drive back home together. Although they are very different, Haley and Brooke have become very close friends and then best friends. After her first child's birth, Haley asks Brooke to be her son's godmother and Brooke does the same with her own sons. Brooke and Haley also worked together and re-opened the Karen's Café. She’s also become very close friends with Mouth McFadden after meeting him in season 1 when she was dating Lucas. She also introduces him to his future wife Millicent Huxtable, her assistant on Clothes Over Bros and only friend in New York City besides Rachel Gatina.

Career[]

From a young age, Brooke has always been interested in making money and a successful business. This begun when she was in the second grade when she went after Martha Stewart's fortunes and made a cookie business called 'Brookies.' The only problem was, she could not cook at all and burnt most cookies to the point where she set off a fire alarm.

Clothes Over Bro's[]

The initial Clothes Over Bro's line features styles from casual to dressy. It was an immediate hit with her customers, selling past their expectations on the

website (which is also actually a valid retailer for One Tree Hill fans interested in purchasing the designs). The clothing line's success grew, putting Brooke in the difficult position of choosing between showcasing her designs at a New York fashion show and starting her career, or leading her Tree Hill cheerleaders to their final competition. In the end, Brooke chose the latter, once she realized that she was not yet ready to enter the fast-paced world of fashion and wanted to finish off her senior year with her friends. During an interview with the school's counselor, Brooke voiced her intentions of studying Fashion Design after high school. Clothes Over Bro's continued to be recognized in Season 4, with Brooke's designs appearing in local fashion shows. When Brooke was involved in a cheating scandal for a test, she was forced to keep from turning herself in to administration in order to maintain an offer to sell her clothing line by Victoria's Secret. She eventually did turn herself in to the principal as it was the right thing to do, but did not get into trouble.

Zero

The beginning of C/B's campaign of Zero is Not a Size.

In Season 5, Clothes Over Bro's has become a full-blown fashion company headed by Brooke Davis herself, but with the business side carried out by her mother, Victoria. The Clothes Over Bro's dynasty consists of B. Davis magazine and a high-end couture line. The Clothes Over Bro's logo (C|B) is incorporated on Peyton's drawing of a heart on fire. The label's name itself is based on Brooke and Peyton’s ‘carchphrase’, "Hoes Over Bros", and was first tagged in a conversation between Haley and Brooke. In Season 6, Brooke signs her company over to her mother, Victoria, after thinking she had her attacked and robbed (it was later revealed to be Jack's brother). Her store remains empty for the majority of the season. Then, Victoria returns telling Brooke the company is going under and if she doesn't return, hundreds will lose their jobs, and she reluctantly returns to the company. Victoria later signs the company back over to Brooke realizing her daughter is more important. She hires an actress, Alex Dupre, to be the new face of Clothes Over Bro's, and after Millicent stands in for a model during a fashion show Brooke puts together at TRIC, she asks her to be a model as well. Currently Victoria becomes President of the company with Millicent as Vice President.

Clothes 4 Bro's[]

Also, she comes up with the idea to begin making clothes for men, which Brooke is thinking of calling "Clothes FOR Bros". She later hires Millicent to be the other face of the company after she wows the crowd during a fashion show at TRIC. She eventually fires both of them after Alex constantly flirts with Julian and causes strain to their relationship, and Millicent begins taking diet pills and doing cocaine, and also for stealing a dress from the store. Millicent is later hired back by Victoria after getting on a DUI charge because Victoria called the police. Brooke begins working with a man Victoria hired named Alexander to develop a brand new men's line, "Clothes 4 Bros". Alexander is president of Clothes 4 Bros but reports to Victoria.

Legal troubles[]

Countless times in the first couple of seasons, she has been sent to jail for crimes, such as shoplifting. At the beginning of Season 8, Brooke is arrested and charged with various monetary crimes which she had nothing to do with. She later finds out that Victoria and Millicent lied to COB investors, reporting a higher company revenue in order to increase their chances of having the men's line picked up and funded. As a result of these crimes, the company goes under, Brooke's store is shut down, and there is the possibility of jail time for whomever is responsible. Victoria and Millicent work closely with the company lawyers to ensure Brooke keeps the company, and eventuall,y an agreement is proposed which would allow Brooke to keep the company in exchange for a fine and Victoria serving prison time. Victoria agrees despite Brooke asking her not to.

Karen's Café[]

The new Karen’s Cafe, run by Brooke and Haley.

After losing Clothes Over Bro's, Brooke remained unemployed for a time until she was re-offered a job at COB as the vice-president, which she was about to accepted until she discovered she was pregnant and as she didn't want her children to be raised in New York. Instead, she and her best friend Haley decided to re-open the Karen's Café together so their children could live in the same environment Haley grew up with. Brooke deals with the business of the Café while Haley deals with the cook and the service. However, when Nathan was kidnapped, Brooke assumes the totality of the Café. She devastated also the Tree Hill Café when this café’s owner – Tara – sent a letter in Julian, reminding him Davis’ accident. She organized a concert in the Café to fight against the Tree Hill Café.

Baker Man[]

After her sons' birth, Brooke created a new line, a line of clothes for baby boys (unlike Baby Brooke was for Baby Girls), inspired by her own children and named after them. Initially asking her mother to partner up, Victoria turned her down, leaving Brooke to make the same offer to her dad, who accepted it, and had three possible investors already lined up in a short period of time. Brooke met her possible investors during a lunch, after a golf party. Eventually, Brooke started the company on the internet and her family bought the Tree Hill Café to make it into a store.
