After nine seasons and nine DVD releases, One Tree Hill has gained many devoted fans. Their commitment to the show has boosted show viewings as well as all seasons being released on DVD shortly after the show's finale date.
One Tree Hill premiered to good audience numbers, and although it had a shaky start, the numbers began to pick up. Eventually, the return of season 2 showed it's biggest audience viewing to date. Since season 2, One Tree Hill has broadcast to just under 3 million viewers. With the departure of Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton, season 7 took another dip in ratings, but is still considered one of the CW networks highest viewed program as well as a show to which many fans are devoted to. The ratings for Season 8 continued to drop and the final season had a slight improvement on the previous season.
