Julian is a film producer from Los Angeles and first appears in season 6, when he comes to Tree Hill showing interest in turning Lucas' first novel into a movie. During his stay in town, he falls in love with Brooke and the two start a relationship, but things become hard between because of her fear of letting someone in due to the numerous heartbreaks she experienced in her life. After the production of the film falls through, Julian decides to go back to Los Angeles, inviting Brooke to join him with her foster daughter Sam Walker, but she turns down him down, felling not ready yet for such a step in their relationship, so he leaves, alone and heartbroken. Later, the two meet again at Lucas and Peyton's wedding and it becomes clear they still love each other, but once again Brooke fails to open up to him and reveal her true feelings, so he leaves again, but then she gathers up her courage, flies to Los Angeles and finally confesses her love for Julian, so the two get back together and start a committed relationship. During the following seasons, their relationship progresses a lot as he moves to Tree Hill to settle down with Brooke and then the two end up getting married and also having twin sons, whom they called Jude and Davis.

Clayton "Clay" Evans is first introduced in season 7 as the agent of Nathan, whom has also become very close friend with. He enjoys the privileged lifestyle he leads and is also reluctant to the idea of a serious romantic commitment as he has lost his belief in love after the tragic death of his wife Sara, choosing instead to have a constant string of meaningless flings with various girls. All this eventually changes after he meets Quinn James, Haley's older sister, who has come to Tree Hill after having separated from her husband: the two initially don't get along, but after they've got to know each other better, they end up falling seriously in love with each other and, thanks to her, Clay is finally able to overcome the trauma of Sara's death and to have a fresh start. After some time, he also discover he's had a son with Sara, Logan, whom he has forgotten because of the trauma of losing Sara, so he tries to reconnect with him. In the end, Clay marries Quinn and the two form a family with Logan.

Quinn is one of the seven siblings of Haley James Scott and is first introduced in season 7. Free spirited and artistic, she has found herself at a crossroads in her life after leaving her husband David Fletcher when she has realized she wasn't in love with him anymore. In need of direction, she has decided to come back to her hometown of Tree Hill to spend time with Haley and her family looking for inspiration on what to do with his life. After David's arrival in Tree Hill too to try to reconcile with her, she has definitely asked him for a divorce and started to rely on Nathan's agent, Clay Evans, for support, stating to get to know each other better despite not getting along at first. The two soon fall in love with each other and enter a relationship after Clay has overcome his worry that he would forget his deceased wife Sara. Eventually, Quinn marries Clay and adopts his son Logan from his first marriage.

Mouth is part of Lucas Scott's group of historical friends along with Antwon "Skills" Taylor, Jimmy Edwards, Fergie Thompson and Junk Moretti. Once Lucas becomes part of the Ravens, Mouth, along with Skills, gets to know the popular students of Tree Hill High, in particular he becomes very close friend with Brooke Davis, for whom he even develops a crush for some time. When Jimmy dies during the school shooting, Mouth is the one who is more traumatized by his loss. He also struggles with the fact he is considered the "underdog" whom every girl is only interested in being friends with. During his young adulthood, he manages to make his dream of becoming a sport reporter come true and ends up falling in love with Millicent Huxtable, Brooke's assistant, and, after many ups and downs, the two eventually get married and have a baby.

Skills is part of Lucas Scott's group of historical friends along with Marvin "Mouth" McFadden, Jimmy Edwards, Fergie Thompson and Junk Moretti. Once Lucas becomes part of the Ravens, Skills, along with Mouth, gets to know the popular students of Tree Hill High and eventually starts a relationship with one of the cheerleader, Bevin Mirskey, during they senior year and stays with her until after graduation. In the meantime, he becomes part of the Ravens along with Lucas and Nathan and the three of them lead the team to the win of the State Championship. During his young adulthood, Skills and Lucas become the new coaches of the Ravens and, at the same time, he gets to be like an uncle figure to Nathan and Haley's son, Jamie.
